What of our new Immigration Bill?

What of Brian Lenihan's new bill?

Your Savant has a simple mechanism to determine its worth - how does the Immigration Industry view it? Happily, they seem to be largely unhappy. Through the fog of lies and obfuscation, Brian seems to have seen a vague outline of the iceberg ahead. He's come to the dramatic conclusion that people who are here illegally should be deported.

Well fancy that!

It seems to me that the main feature will be to detain those who have lost their last appeal. This will avoid the kind of farce we had last month when fewer than 10 deportees showed up for a flight to Nigeria, scheduled to take hundreds.

The bill also proposes to limit the currently endless and horrendously expensive (to the Irish taxpayer) appeals process. At present there is no loss to the lawyer or applicant (in fact there's great profit to the lawyer) in dragging out the process interminably. Now the taxpayer won't have to fork out if the appeal is judged to be frivolous. Mmmm..... I'll believe that when I see it.

There are also limits on uniting of families. Not surprising given that some 'families' are well into double digits, with no means of verifying familial bona fides. Now on this one I'm with the Industry. I'm all in favour of families being reunited. By giving the asylum tourist a free ticket home.

The one big omission relates to the use of Dublin II. As every schoolboy knows (but not our immigration 'professionals', seemingly), if someone presents himself here seeking asylum having arrived from an EU country he can be sent right back to that country. Why don't they use it?

The next stage now is assist the return of those bedding in here. This sounds cruel, but we're in an existential struggle. And we can humanise it with the Steve Sailer solution: pay them to leave. It'd be the best money we'd ever spend, and everyone would be happy.

Go for it Brian.

As an addendum, just got this link from Hibernia Girl:

Notice how conscience these 'Irish citizens' are of their so-called rights. Note too what sounds like machine-gun fire during the SinnFein representative's homily!

Coming to a place near you

Ann Cryer is a Labour MP. And we know that Labour is the home of multi-kulti, kumbiyah, PC Thought Police. So it's time to take notice when someone like her admits the following:

"I've been told about men and women of my age who don't like to go into local parks because they've been told by Pakistani lads to stay out. There are almost entirely Muslim areas where it would be difficult for a white to live in the same way that it would be hard for a Muslim to live in some of the all-white areas."

Any suggestions as to the first location in Ireland to resemble this?

Muslims in Europe Charter

This post at Gates of Vienna is MUST READ.

Niall Mellon Trust

Niall Mellon is a good-hearted lad. The Foundation he started build 20% of low cost housing in Cape Town last year, and 15% in Gauteng (J’burg/Pretoria). It was to him that Bertie passed over €5 million of our money during his recent visit to SA. Last November was particularly noticeable in that 203 houses were built in one week by 1380 volunteers. Said volunteers, and all the money come from Ireland.

In fact one of those volunteers worked for your Savant until about two years ago, when he left a highly-paid technology job to build houses in SA. Our conversation went something like this:

Andrew, why are you doing this?

To build houses for poverty-stricken blacks

But you know nothing about building houses

Yes, but that's the great thing. They’re prefabricated and simple to put together – so you don’t need any skills really!

So if you don’t need any skills, why don’t the blacks do it for themselves?

Cue dropping of jaw, shuffling of feet, and a feeble ‘well, it’s not their culture, like…’.

And it’s not their culture to contribute their labour to the project either. Those locals working on the project – i.e. those for whom the houses are being built - will do so only if they get paid. And apparently now there’s another related problem. The beneficiaries of our largesse can earn better money working on the World Cup stadiums thanfor the Trust. And guess what they’re doing?

Exactly. So now Niall is short of labour, and he wants more mugs from Ireland to fill the gap.

And to cap it all, said beneficiaries have now taken to renting out the properties - to multiple families at the one time. This was furiously denied by the Trust initially, but they now grudgingly concede that ‘a small number’ may have done this. And just like they do with welfare in this country, the rentiers will probably get allocated another house at some stage, using a different name.

Niall, can't you see you’re making things worse? Not alone will the houses revert in due course to what they were (see picture), but by taking on the white man’s burden you're pushing Africans even further away from ever taking responsibility for their own destinies.

We NEED these people

After yesterday's dazzling display of celebrating diversity I find I need another fix. And what could be more ethnically diverse (at least for the moment) than crowds of Shia Muslims slashing themselves to pieces in celebration of some daft thing or other?

AP tells us that "hundreds of thousands of frenzied Shiites beat their heads and chests in unison and whipped themselves with chains Saturday across Iraq to honor the martyrdom of one of their most revered saints. The processions were marred by violence with a deadly bombing in northern Iraq and clashes south of Baghdad.

The street battles between members of a messianic cult and Iraqi troops raged for a second day as the death toll from the fighting in two predominantly Shiite southern cities rose from 50 to at least 68."

Come on Conor Lenihan, we need lots more of these people to enrich our society.

Another profound question answered...

For 18 long years we've wondered - what is Victoria's Secret?

Bloodbath in Cork

Exiting Waterstones today my ears were assailed by a cacophony I initially took to be a re-enactment of the Battle of Blood River. On closer examination I encountered two black cultural enrichers assailing one another, verbally initially, then physically.

Not wishing to miss this opportunity to celebrate diversity at first hand - and in the added hope that one of them might get killed - I stayed to watch. I should have moved on. Having spent a long time in Limerick I thought I was inured to lethal violence. But these young ladies, both of them big enough to throw Donncha O'Callaghan over a house, took it to a new level.

Believe it or not, I have never seen a bitch fight at first hand, but I understood it consisted of scratches and hair pulling. Not here . Solid blows rained in, thump, thump, thump. Then the larger cultural enricher got a headlock on the other and smashed her forehead off the corner of a stone doorway.

Blood spurted everywhere - a vein must have been severed. The pavement was covered to an area of about two square yards. Then she tried to hit the 'victim' with a stiletto in the eye. Fortunately (?) she missed. An Eastern European girl who happened by felt faint and, ashen-faced, needed to sit down to recover. To be honest, I felt disturbed myself. Not very manly I know, but such unbridled savagery at first hand, especially from the gentler sex, comes as a bit of a shock to the system.

As African asylum tourists and other illegals flood in, and their offspring come on stream we can expect many more such cultural exchanges in the future.

Criminal diversity

Sean O'Rourke, a valued contributor to this blog, has taken it on himself to trawl through back issues of the MSM to see how much celebrating diversity is costing us in crime and fraud. Even I wasn't prepared for his haul.

At the end of it I was forced to ask - 'are there any home-grown criminals?'. But then, why should I be surprised? The same has happened in every other country swamped by unsuitable immigrants, and our jails are full of Africans (mainly Nigerians) and Muslims. As Steve Sailer said, if you see blacks in a newspaper, it's on the crime page. Check Hibernia Girl, who posts that one Nigerian couple bilked the UK taxpayer for £4 million, using 26 different names.

Sean ends by asking 'when will common sense prevail?' As Bob Dylan said Sean, the answer is blowin in the wind.

Don't hold your breath.

Bertie dishes out unwanted cash

As we plunge deeper into our recession, it was a sight to behold Bertie throwing around our cash like snuff at a wake in Africa this week. As I've shown many times already, far from helping ordinary Africans, such largesse is counter-productive. This post explains why in more detail.

But in essence the problem is this. Power in Africa is tribal. You seize power for your own tribe(s), and you hold onto it, permanently, you hope, by dishing out the goodies to your supporters. Having first looked after yourself, needless to say. Foreign aid is the ideal mechanism for this, being in cash and largely unaccountable. Seizing farms in contrast means you’ll have to do some work (the horror! the horror!) to get rich.

As long as billions of foreign aid keeps flowing in Africans will never address their core problems. As an aside, if Bertie is as interested in efficient eGovernment as he claims, why doesn’t he just make an electronic payment direct to the despots’ secret accounts in Switzerland? Look at the trouble that’d save.

So now we learn that nearly €1 billion – one thousand million Euro - is to be wasted on this nonsense in 2008. While at home, to save money, we cancel a shelter for the homeless in Dublin, cystic fibrosis sufferers die from want of proper support, schools must scrounge around for computers, and priceless initiatives to address youth deprivation like the Fettercairn Youth Horse Project are starved of funds.

Why do we do it? Why do we deprive our own needy of funds and allow them instead be trousered by corrupt, incompetent buffoons in Africa?

Who knows? My own guess is that, in our new-found – and soon to disappear - wealth, we want to show the world how far we’ve come. Our leaders want to go to UN conferences and boast that we’re the third highest per capita donors, things like that.

We’ll repent at our leisure.

Nigerian cultural enrichers

The London Times brings us this story which underlines how lucky we are to have so many Nigerians enriching our society (and enriching themselves at our expense).

Italian and Dutch police have announced the dismantling of a vast Nigerian crime ring that smuggled cocaine and heroin into Europe and forced dozens of women into prostitution.

The joint operation co-ordinated by Naples’ anti-mafia police identified a "dangerous Nigerian criminal organisation" from the southern region around the economic capital Lagos, chief anti-mafia prosecutor Pietro Grasso told a news conference.

The ring channelled drugs and young women, often minors, to several European countries, he told reporters, who was flanked by Amsterdam’s deputy police chief Johan Hartskamp, his partner in an investigation that was launched in 2006.

Since 2006, Dutch police have identified more than 100 Nigerian women including many minors who were forced into prostitution in west Africa and then sent to Amsterdam where they were assured that they would win political asylum under liberal Dutch laws covering human trafficking.

But once the women had residency papers for the European Union (EU), the crime syndicate forced them again into prostitution and sent them to work in Italy, France, Ireland, Britain and Spain, among other countries, the joint police task force said in a statement.

So that's what they mean by cultural enrichment.....

Remember the wise words offered to your Savant (by an English ex-pat) on my first visit to Nigeria: "Work on the assumption that everyone - and I mean everyone - is out to con you any chance they get. Do that and you won't go too far wrong".

An honest Nigerian is a rare exception.

Islam in Antwerp (and coming soon to a place near you)

Europe News (good site) provides us with an appetiser for our future dhimmi status. A few excerpts (in sometimes fractured English):

Antwerp was the first of many cities in Flanders to allow for restricted opening hours for men in public swimming pools, in advantage of Muslim women, since their partners don’t grant them the presence of other men.

All school meals in Antwerp are prepared “halal” according to Muslim regulation. School forms explicit note that pig or horse meat is completely banned from school menus – even for Christian pupils. This solely to meet Muslim demands.

The neutrality of public service in Antwerp was contaminated by a growing number of Muslim clerks at reception desks. Therefore the town council intended to ban all expressions of religion whatsoever. This ban would imply for both the Muslim veil, Jewish kippa and Christian crucifix alike. Muslims protested furiously and demanded a general prohibition of Christmas trees and Easter chocolates on the work floor. The ban on veils was immediately withdrawn, mysteriously the prohibition on crucifixes and kippas was maintained.

Interestingly for Ireland, the vast majority of Muslim immigrants (mainly from Morocco and Turkey) arrived in Antwerp very recently - within the last 20 years or so. Yet the city will have a Muslim majority in a few decades if present trends continue.

Any lessons for Ireland? Of course

Will we learn from them? Of course not

Detention centres for asylum tourists?

The Government has sent out a trial balloon on the possibility of detaining asylum tourists while their claims are being processed. This was originally proposed by Michael McDowell, before his demise at the last general election. It was possibly prompted by the embarrassing (if you can embarrass an Irish politician) fiasco a few weeks back. A a plane was booked to take hundreds of Nigerians back to the dark continent, when, lo and behold, only nine of them showed up.

Big surprise that.

Another big surprise has been the reaction of the Immigration Industry to today's announcement. The CEO of the Irish Refugee Council, Robin Hanan bleats 'we would be very concerned at detaining people who are not guilty of any criminal offence... and seeking what's their right under international law'.

No - silly! I'm not surprised that he makes the point that such tourists are genuine asylum seekers despite the fact that 90% are eventually deemed ineligible. What amazes me is that he never used the word 'offensive', somewhere or other. These guys are slipping up.

Finally, can anyone answer a simple question? Why are these 'applicants' not sent back to the EU port from which they arrived, as the Dublin II Convention allows? We have no direct links with their countries of origin.

Welcome to our new neighbour

The neighbours of Jane Felix-Brownes look likely to welcome a new citizen into their midst shortly. He is Omar Bin Laden, whose daddy is the one and only Osama. Omar plans to move into a £550,000 house in the swanky neighbourhood of Moulton in Cheshire, with Jane, his new wife, ‘once formalities have been cleared’.

The story of Jane and Omar is touching. They apparently fell in love after a “whirlwind romance” and now can't bear to be apart, not for a minute. Even more gladdening, the traditional Arab obsession with virginity has been waved away in this instance as a mere trifle in the face of true love. You see, Jane, who is 52 (Omar is 26) has been married no fewer than six times and is a grandmother. So we can safely assume the oul’ hymen is well and truly blowin’ in the wind at this stage.

Even more gratifying is Omar’s latest career move. Having admitted to receiving terrorist training at daddy’s academy in Afghanistan, he has recently had a spectacular epiphany, and now is employed as a ‘peace activist’. Happens all the time, I suppose.

So will the happy couple (pictured above) manage to live out their finest years in the leafy suburbs of Moulten? The omens are good. Jane shares with us: "The embassy staff are all very friendly and they are doing all the checks. We have been told there will not be a problem as long as we can provide the original documents from his divorce from his first wife. And that should be done in a week."

Well, they left in one of Idi Amin’s countless offspring (see this), so why not Omar?
But.... just as I finished writing this, a nasty thought entered my mind. I know it’s horrible, given that true romance is such a scarce commodity these days. But, like, he’s a strict Muslim (and a qualified terrorist), yet he divorces his Muslim wife and marries a kuffir multiple divorcee, who’s exactly twice his age? I just wonder, maybe, could this be a set up? No, never.

Couldn't say it better myself

TimWorstall's blog quotes Nobel Laureate Milton Friedman as follows. Couldn't say it better myself:

"You are not mistaken in believing that drugs are a scourge that is devastating our society. You are not mistaken in believing that drugs are tearing asunder our social fabric, ruining the lives of many young people, and imposing heavy costs on some of the most disadvantaged among us. You are not mistaken in believing that the majority of the public share your concerns. In short, you are not mistaken in the end you seek to achieve.
Your mistake is failing to recognize that the very measures you favor are a major source of the evils you deplore. Of course the problem is demand, but it is not only demand, it is demand that must operate through repressed and illegal channels. Illegality creates obscene profits that finance the murderous tactics of the drug lords; illegality leads to the corruption of law enforcement officials; illegality monopolizes the efforts of honest law forces so that they are starved for resources to fight the simpler crimes of robbery, theft and assault.

Drugs are a tragedy for addicts. But criminalizing their use converts that tragedy into a disaster for society, for users and non-users alike. Our experience with the prohibition of drugs is a replay of our experience with the prohibition of alcoholic beverages."

Two false dawns

Some people never learn. Oscar Wilde's description of marriage (the triumph of hope over experience) can equally be applied to African success stories and freedom in the Arab press.

Item: Kenya

Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and Uganda share a number of things in common. One being that at different stages they were each held up as ‘African success story’. Dynamic, democratic, stable. Proof that Africans could do it on their own.

Needless to say, nature asserted itself, and all eventually degenerated into corrupt, violent, poverty-stricken hellholes.

But Kenya was different, designated ‘the African Gazelle’, or something equally nonsensical. As we all know now of course this has gone the way of the rest of the success stories (although the rioter photographed here at least got the teeshirt right). Yet the continet continues to get billions in foreign aid. Our esteemed Foreign Minister proudly boasts that we’ll spend nearly €1 billion this year filling up the Swiss bank accounts of these monsters throughout the continent. A former British Ambassador said of the Kenyan rulers “they gorge on foreign aid until they vomit up on the feet of the donors’. Colourful, undiplomatic, but absolutely true.

Will they ever learn that you can't change Africa? At least for many generations to come. Will they ever realise, as so many honest intelligent Africans do, that continuing to pump in financial aid actually makes things worse?

Item: Al Jazeera

The Arab region has been a byword for freedom of the press – er, absence of. Virtually all its countries are ruled by hereditary monarchs or hereditary generals. News media in the region simply did what they were told, glowingly highlighting every routine meeting by whatever thug was in power at the time. You’ll see the first item on the news as ‘His Highness today met the [whatever] Foreign Minister and a valuable discussion took place’. Fawning ‘analysis’ would in due course be followed by less newsworthy items, such as a tsunami in Asia killing thousands or the outbreak of World War III..

Al Jazeera was different. This told it as it was. Set up by the Qatari ‘royal’ family, it took orders from nobody and was fiercely independent. The fact that George Bush wanted to bomb it surely meant it had to be doing something right. Arabs everywhere took their news from it, rather than their own supine media.

Rulers throughout the Arab region were incensed at its investigations and reporting. None more so that the bloated savages in Saudi Arabia. But that was the rub. Because if you looked at it carefully, and possessed my razor-like insight, you’d see that the Saudis seemed to be the real targets. And indeed, Qatar was deeply peeved at its Islamic brothers, who used the first Gulf War to steal some of their land, had supported a coup against the Qatari rulers, and were generally seen as a threat.

But enter Iran. Powerful, aggressive, half-mad Shia Muslims, and just across the water from Qatar. Suddenly the Saudis weren’t too bad after all. Cue meeting between the two ruling families. Criticism of the Saudis on Al Jazeera fell away to a whisper.

They’re still a long way from a free press in the Arab world

"and he found himself in Ireland......"

Have you ever noticed the masterful phrase ‘found himself in Ireland’ used by the Immigration Industry and their shills in the MSM to describe the irregular arrival here of an asylum tourist? It goes like this: ‘His village was attacked by crazed tribesmen who burned down his house and hacked his wife and family to death. He barely escaped with his life and eventually ‘found himself in Ireland’.

Note by the way that all such claims are taken at face value by the 'journalists'. Never a case of ‘he said that…

But I've been trying to figure how someone like that could ‘find himself’ in Ireland. Certainly I could imagine him setting off, armed with a hefty swadge of money, forged documents, a cock-and-bull victim story and the name of a reliable trafficker. And eventually arriving here. But finding himself here?

So I try to picture the scene. Here’s Kojo, over in Lagos, going about his normal day-to-day activities, quietly robbing a cash machine. Then POOF! A blinding flash of light, a cloud of smoke, and suddenly he finds himself in Ireland.

Well, it’s the only explanation I can think of. Anyone else do better?

Independent my arse

My features creased into an unaccustomed smile over the weekend on reading the various ‘independent’ economists assure us that all is well. No, that’s not an iceberg we see ahead of us. Not at all.

The banks, brokers and auctioneering institutes are not in the business of giving free economic advice. Their business is to fleece us for every last cent they can get away with. So when these parasites raise their odoriferous armpits and release a swarm of advisors on us we should recoil like vampires before garlic. Their job is to talk up the market. Period.

So we get the likes of:

The fundamentals are sound”. Bollocks

The latest oil spike is caused by [insert here any convenient trouble spot or natural disaster] and prices will fall to $80 within a few months”. More bollocks. The only thing that will get oil down to that level will be a raging world-wide recession (can there be a ‘raging’ recession?), which is more and more likely.

The auctioneers confide in us that "house prices have fallen by 3% over the last year” but go on to reassure us that “the market appears to have bottomed out”. Absolute bollocks. House prices are off by over 20% and more - assuming you can find anyone to buy. If history is anything to go by, this property crisis will take a few years to pan out. Note – the Japanese economy has never recovered from their late 80s property bubble.

And circling ominously overhead, like a giant black vulture, are the sub-prime crisis and its related sub-crises. This will most definitely get worse. How bad is anyone’s guess.

So, dragged along, kicking and screaming by facts they can no longer ignore, the independents concede that economic growth this year “could fall to 3.7%”. I stand by the prediction I made six months ago when all these geniuses were forecasting growth of 5%+ for 2008. There will be no growth at all this year, or growth so low that it won't register.

Let’s wait and see who’s right. Savant or the ‘independents’

Is this a racist hate site?

In weaker moments I sometimes check what the blogosphere is saying about your Savant. One thing that comes up again and again (and also in post comments) is the claim that this is a ‘ racist hate site’. I note that this wisdom comes mainly from student bloggers. They take a quick look, then fold their semen-stained hands and move on. End of story, all further discussion is foreclosed. Debate the issues? Are you mad?

The more industrious ones will cite my views that large numbers of blacks are bad for this country, that they have lower IQs, and that Africa itself is swamp of corruption and incompetence. Guilty as charged your honour. But does that mean I hate blacks?

Well, taking on this ‘logic’, I also acknowledge that as an ethnic group Jews have on average higher IQ levels than other whites, and that large numbers of Jewish immigrants would be very good for the country. Does that make this a ‘love’ site? What nonsense.

Unlike almost all of these pubescents, I have a lot of direct experience of Africa. And interestingly enough, I have found that many intelligent blacks are often quite open to debating the issue. Again, in my dealings with blacks, here or abroad, I'm exactly the same as I would be with any other group.

Finally, given that I operate under a pseudonym (for very obvious reasons), if I did hate these people there’s no penalty for my admitting it. But I DO NOT HATE THEM. I just think – make that know – that having large numbers of them coming in here is bad for the country. Very bad.

The farce of airport 'security'

Many hours of my precious time, that could be better spend defending Western civilization, have been wasted by so-called security measures at airports. Have you ever heard of someone being caught by them? I've never seen a mention. Leave aside the trivial nonsense, like not letting us take toothpaste on board, or seeing a Swedish 10 year-old frisked by a burka-clad ‘security’ officer at Heathrow, or the Osama bin Laden look-alike monitoring the X-ray machine?

First, any half decent terrorist can get weapons on board if he wants to. A recent ethical intrusion exercise at Dublin airport managed to smuggle through a machine gun, or a tank or something, totally undetected.

But the real fun starts if you look at other targets. Say you’re a terrorist and you want to inflict maximum casualties, a common occupational objective, where do you look? I know what I'd do. Select a train or a car ferry. With either of those you can bring a nuclear device on board without even a nominal security check. Leaving it primed on board, you can then save your precious hide, and blow up everyone else’s, by simply stepping off again.

Airport ‘security’ is a meaningless, wasteful, infuriating charade.

Give me the Zionist hell please

My friend Assad is a proud Palestinian and a former member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (although most definitely not the suicide bomber type). Several years ago I remember he had become very agitated. It seems that his family home in East Jerusalem was about to be taken over by the Israelis.

Pardon me. In fact it was about to be handed over to the Palestine Authority (PA) by the Israelis. Great news then? No, not for Assad. Why? Well, a sheepish smile, a shrug of the shoulders, but no explanation.

Earlier still, about 2001, so many Arabs were seeking Israeli citizenship that the PA threatened to confiscate their property and the Mullahs issued fatwas against it. Fast forward a few years and the Israelis propose giving Arabs in the Galilee Triangle their ‘freedom’ – i.e. put them under PA control. Cue the sound of chairs falling over, stampeding feet and slamming doors as the locals flee from the offer. It seems there were worse things than the Zionist hell.

And that could be the Palestine Paradise. Let’s look…

A friend of mine (I do have friends!), a Christian who formerly lived near Jenin in the West Bank (before fleeing for his life in 2003) gave me a first hand insight into this Islamic paradise. Here women are literally treated worse than animals (the latter have some economic value at least), honour killings are routine, and female children regularly strangled at birth.

He was passing a neighbour’s compound (that's what they call the enclosed domestic area) one day when he heard cries and the sound of struggle within. You don’t just pop in to a compound in such circumstances, especially if you’re a Christian. But anyway, in he went and found his neighbour’s eldest son strangling his sister with a rope. That's right. Even more remarkably, when the brother had finished his handiwork he calmly pointed out that he did it to save the family ‘honour’. And what can be more honourable than strangling your sister?

Unbelievably, this beauty strangled another sister a few years later for a similar offence. In such circumstances, the parents arrange the murder and take themselves off to town while their darling offspring does his work. But not always. There was the case a few years back, and this is truly scary, where a mother cut her daughter’s throat, again to save the family honour. The scary bit is that the youngest daughter said ‘it made me love my mother all the more that she’d do such a difficult thing to save our family’s honour’. Does the Antichrist live here, or what? And needless to say, the police do nothing.

Now can a society get any sicker than that? Isn’t it hard to feel much sympathy when the Israelis roll all over them and fuck them up constantly? Is it any wonder that I recoil in horror when I see these people settling in my country, complete with their ghoulish ‘culture’?

And is it any wonder so many of them prefer the Zionist hell?

Just take from the kuffirs

There' was a bit of a row (by Dutch standards) in their Parliament some time back. Health Minister Hoogervorst wanted to give priority on transplantation waiting lists to people who are registered as donors, but MPs slammed the proposal on claims it will introduce discrimination in healthcare. So far so good.... kind of.

The Health Minister defended his proposal by pointing out that Muslims refuse to donate organs based on religious beliefs. Fair enough, as presumably they won't accept them either. But no! They're quite willing to accept organs, but not give them.

"That creates a bad feeling," the Minster said, with masterly understatement. He added that it "is not just a few Muslims who refuse to give and whom are willing to receive an organ donation. It is instead a substantial group". Immigrants often have poorer health and will require a transplant more often than native Dutch. Due to the shortage of organ donors — especially kidneys — some 200 people die every year in the Netherlands.

You'd think then that the proposal would be universally accepted. But no. The PC alarm bells went off, the Thought Police swung into action, and a major row ensued. This again underlines a fundamental precept of Muslim interaction with kuffirs. You can take but don't have any obligation to give. While it's a certainty that all or even most Muslims don't act this way, the 'Sacred Texts' enjoin it.

Anybody know how this proposal ended up?
